so first things first, i dropped the August Demo this week! i would greatly appreciate it if you listened to it and told your friends, or even bought the CD - i put a lot of work into this and i'm glad to see it came out so well. the CD comes with liner notes on the inside with beautiful graphic design work courtesy of my friend patrick, who does the best physical layouts in history. if you need that kind of thing done, i highly advise hiring them.

anyways! (oops i accidentally wrote that first section last night and then went to bed.) i applied to more places for job-shaped things today, including the rat casino. i maybe feel a little weird working potentially working there because i haven't interacted with kids in a while but i mean, i'm normal and i was a kid once, i can probably not accidentally say fuck around them or whatever. just a little afraid is all - i have heard many a horror story.

last night i started working on recording, like, actual music on the fifth cassette master i'm cooking up! i did a version of my friend june's song ...Called Your Boyfriend today which is one of the best recordings i feel like i've done in quite a long while. i also did a few other things (a new version of He Was One Inch Tall this morning and a weird jam with my Mattel Synsonics also last night) but CYB is the one i'm most proud of so far, if i can get june's OK it'll probably be on the shortlist for the ever mythical Horn O'Plenty Cassette which i'm probably gonna give to friends and other well-wishers who care for physical things. the original plan was dubbing it onto one side of a C45, but i rapidly found out those are very tough to get your hands on indeed so it'll probably be a C60 instead since those are far cheaper/easier to acquire in bulk/gives me more space that i may or may not use.

oh yeah, also last night i listened to Archive Cardiacs (or most of it, at least) on a walk. it is very very good! i've always been huge on The Obvious Identity and Toy World even in spite of their highly dubious fidelity so having any of those songs in master quality is a treat. i'll put a song from it in the songs i've been digging recently section, probably. so so so good.

i... think that's everything! i'm typing this the afternoon of september 3rd so if other things happen today that are worth talking about i'll type them out on a different entry. i hope you are faring well.

SONGS I'VE BEEN DIGGING RECENTLY:

Cardiacs - My Trade Mark [Dead Mouse is also worth checking out, even though it's not on Archive]

Ween - Stop, Look, Listen (& Learn)

The Apples in Stereo - Strawberryfire

nelward - the Doctor Dance

Mono Puff - Unsupervised, I Hit My Head
